Staff Housing Liberty Whiteware, Neemrana, Rajasthan

Liberty Group is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of leather shoes. Wanting to diversify into sanitary ware, the company tied up with the Italian major SACMI to set up a large plant in Rajasthan that would produce world class sanitary ware for the Indian market.

They wanted to construct an on campus housing facility for their employees. SSA’s task was to design 3 separate groups of low rise housing catering to three specific requirements of 1-room unit, 2-bed room unit and dormitories.

SSA organized these three clusters strategically around a central lawn. Individual courtyards & verandahs were planned for the residents of the lower floors while private terraces & balconies were provided to the upper floor residents. Emphasis was laid on ample natural light and ventilation keeping in mind the hot & bright climate of and earthy hues were used to reflect the colours of the natural landscape of the region.
