Max Mueller Library, New Delhi

It was several years since the old German Library had been refurbished. Goethe Institute was looking for a complete makeover of the library; form the traditional sober look, to a more modern, yet dignified image that would attract and appeal to the new generation reader.

In keeping with the sophisticated image of the German Library, SSA decided to give the Library a pristine white look with minimalistic style of detailing. The vast expanse of the open hall is enhanced by a tall linear ceiling with diffused lights highlighting its rectilinear form. The monochromatic theme of the library is well complemented by the meticulously selected furniture with splashes of bright red to add a dash of cheer to the library
