ITM University, Gurgaon

Designing an extension to an existing building with a strong architectural vocabulary is a big challenge. The entire campus of the Institute has buildings that are low-height, and with a character that conforms to the traditional universities.

SSA was commissioned by the ITM in 2012 for a grand expansion to their existing campus in Gurgaon. The biggest challenge faced by SSA was to integrate the new construction with the old without vitiating the ethos of the campus. The Architectural features were designed to blend harmoniously with the existing construction, while at the same time reflecting a slick & modern look of the 21st century.

The building consists of 2 basements & 5 upper floors. The 2 basements are primarily used for car parking & building services.system.The upper floors house fully air conditioned lecture halls. A state of the art 450 seat stepped auditorium with the most modern sound and acoustic system occupies a major part of the ground & the first floor.

A grand three storied atrium with smooth curves of the lobbies juxtaposed one above the other break away from the strict rigidity of the institution & create a cheerful play of positive & negative space.
