Interior for Apartment, Delhi : minimalistic grace

Rini & Amrit had waited for years to get an apartment of their own. When they finally got their hands on one, it was located in an old high-rise building in the heart of Delhi city. They knew it was going to be a difficult task to redesign the flat to look like an American studio apartment which they had so grown to like during their long stay in the US.

SSA started by literally opening out the existing apartment by doing away with unnecessary partition walls. They took in a balcony & widened the windows to let in maximum natural light by daytime & allowing breathtaking views of the city by night.

Decorations were consciously kept to the minimum, with hosed Italian marble on the floors & solid teakwood paneled doors rising up to the ceiling to give a feeling of larger space. The cozy kitchenette with its brilliant blue tiles & stainless steel & teak wood cabinets adds the just needed dash of colour to the sober, minimalist décor.
